5:30 PM:  Pre-Rally Martini Party, Midtown Crossing Grill, 394 N. Watkins St.

For those coming into town early to enjoy the many sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the Bluff City, our Pre-Rally Martini Party has become a new tradition of the Kings.  Join us at the Midtown Crossing Grill for some of our favorite martinis and great food from Chef Octavia.  If you’ve got a ukulele, bring that along too!

 

Friday, April 28

4:00 PM:  Registration and Meet, Greet and Bands, Memphis Made Brewery, 768 S. Cooper St.

both friends and fellow scooterist, and will smack you into rally mode with their cool vibes! 😉

Then!

Pick up your All Access badge and swag bag filled with cool rally gear, have some of the finest brew made in Memphis, reunite with old scooter friends and make new ones!

Our friends at Gourmade Food truck will be on site.  

9:00 PM:  Dead Elvis Night Ride –Ride by Co-Prez Philip & Susan Prichard to Forest Hill Cemetery

We’ll leave the brewery and brave the spirits of the night as we ride through the cemetery where The King himself was first laid to rest, and stop and take a quick tour of his crypt.

 

Saturday, April 29

8:30 AM: Breakfast at Performance Plus Motorcycle and ATV Specialists, 5312 Pleasant View Rd.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast from our favorite scooter dealership and sponsor, browse through the store, check out the new scooters, and then get ready for the rides of the day:

9:30 AM:  Long Ride – “Chicken Run”Ride by Memphis Kings S/C Jay and Lettie Blundon – back by popular demand is one of our favorite rides through northern Shelby County to Mason, TN, home of the original “Gus’s Fried Chicken” where we’ll have lunch.  We’ll come back to town along the Mississippi River Trail, some of the best twisties and beautiful countryside the region has to offer.  We’ll be reaching speeds of 50 – 55 mph  on some roads, so please 110 cc scooters or bigger only.  Distance 125 miles, two rest stops (one for gas), one lunch stop.  Line up at 9:20 am.

10:00 AM:  Short Ride  – “Sugar Rush”  Ride by Memphis Kings S/C Greg Gentry & Elizabeth Eickhoff  – If you’ve got a sweet tooth then this short city ride is for you.  We’ll ride to many of the city’s favorite locals for all things sugary and delicious, including Gibson’s Donuts, Dinstuhl’s Chocolates, and Jerry’s Snow Cones.  Open to all scooters.  Approximate distance less than 30 miles.

10:00 AM:  Medium Ride  – “DiXiE Ride” –  Thanks to the Mid-South Scooter Collective for hosting this medium city ride! Cross two bridges (over the Mississippi River,) three states, and a whole lotta Southern Charm. Popular Memphis sights wrapped up in a fun ride. Lunch will be at Young Ave Deli in the Cooper-Young District. Scoots will need to reach 40 mph. Approximate distance: 75 – 80 miles.

***This Just In! The Mid-South Scooter Collective will be drawing for prizes on this ride! 

3:00 PM:  Kingkhana on Mud IslandThe Memphis King’s version of the classic rally gymkhana, overlooking the Mighty Mississippi, will include slow and fast races, our obstacle course, and two up races and games.  Scooter judging will also be on our Scooter Concourse, so make sure to polish up your scooter and enter it for a “Best Of” prize.

6:00 PM:  Dinner at Central BBQ –  147 E. Butler Ave.  It wouldn’t be a trip to Memphis and it certainly wouldn’t be a Dead Elvis Rally without the delicious BBQ served by our awesome sponsor Central BBQ.  We’ll scoot from Mud Island to the CBBQ Downtown location for some of the finest pulled pork in the country!  After dinner, just a few blocks north, you’ll find Beale Street if you’re in the mood for Memphis Blues  along one of the country’s most renown streets.

 

Sunday, April 30

10:00 AM: DEX Rally Awards Brunch and Raffle will be held at Monroe Vintage Motors, 413 Monroe Ave.  Memphis Kings Scooter Club will be serving breakfast sliders from Bardog Tavern! We’ll announce the winners of the Kingkhana games and scooter judging.  Other awards will include “Furthest Distance Ridden”, “Furthest Distance Traveled”, and “Best Club Attendance”.  Be sure to buy enough raffle tickets because we’ve got tons of raffle prizes and a fabulous new scoot from Performance Plus for the lucky ticket holders!
